Design Review and Construction Supervision of Civil Works for Holeta- Muger Road Upgrading Project, Ethiopia

Background
The Holeta – Muger Road Upgrading Project is located in Oromiya Regional State in Western Shoa zone.  The road connects Muger and Inchini towns with the main Addis-Nekempte asphalt road.  The project consists of the upgrading of the existing 56.3km gravel surfaced road to asphaltic concrete standard and also the construction of a 13.66m bridge across the Berga. The road when completed will enhance development in the vicinity of the project area.  Besides accelerating economic  development around the project area, the upgrading will facilitate the supply of cement from the factory to the capital city and other places. . The pavement consists of asphaltic concrete wearing course laid over crushed stone base on a natural gravel subbase.
